Our little Olivia turned one-month old last Thursday!! She is starting to give more little smiles (even if it is only when she's sleeping or passing gas) and look less wrinkly and blotchy. She has moved into cloth diapers and is almost outgrown the tiniest of her newborn clothes. Fresh air and snuggles are her favorite.
Something I decided to do with her, that I didn't do with Derek, is a photo shoot every month for her first year. I did a project life album for Derek, and was documenting his weekly progress and had a TON of photos. This time around, I just don't have time for that and I absolutely LOVE seeing a collection like this come together (thank you Pinterest :) I couldn't choose just one type of photo so I am doing a few.
The photo above is the first series I am doing. My Mom and Dad bought Olivia this super cute blanket that is silver sparkles on one side and fuzzy gray polka dots on the other and it makes the perfect backdrop. Then, I am using the elephant that Derek and I picked out for her on the day I found out I was pregnant for size comparison. Lastly, I decided to go with a different colored cloth diaper each month that I can match the text to. I wanted this series to look whimsical and playful.
For this series, flipped the blanket over and because it is fun having a girl with lots of cute outfits and dresses, I wanted these photos to be cute and girly. I am going to dress her in my favorite dress of the moment each month and am trying to stick to a color scheme of gray, navy, and aqua, with a hint of pink/ coral here and there, so that they look cohesive when all twelve of them are put together.
The last set of photos wasn't intentional when I was taking pictures, but rather came together afterwards with some creative cropping and resizing. I don't plan on doing this every month, but maybe one more time at 6 months and then again at a year? I really love the way this turned out and can't wait to print it for her scrapbook!!
I am already looking forward to next months photos!!
