I wanted to take a minute and share some of the progress I am making on finishing Derek's album documenting his first year. I added it to my list of projects for my Year of Finishing, and had completed pages through September. I chose to create a traditional Project Life style album, documenting each week with a 2 page spread.
I am now through October (woohoo) and I am loving looking back on what went on that year and how much has changed since then. It is especially fun to look at pictures of him when he was that little with the new one on the way :)
My little helper :) He likes to look at the albums too. This spread is from our weekend at the Georgia National Fair. I cannot even believe those chubby little cheeks!! I used a portion of the map as part of the layout and then just chose my favorite photos and drew color inspiration from there.
I love the colors of this layout!! They are definitely some of my go to's and I am REALLY into gray right now! I didn't have that many photos from this week, but had a good amount of stories. I also realized that I am starting to run a little low on Project Life cards and need to get some more. I have a tendency to use subtle and simple ones the most and then add watercolor to make my own.
This week ended up being just a one page spread. I didn't have a whole lot documented from this week so I just went with it. This was the week that he said Mama!! I also love how the color palette kind of just fell into place. The little flowers behind the Take Note title were a total happy accident and just happened to be on the back of the card from the previous week, but went perfect with this layout! And the egg is a card from my Breakfast card set.
Only two more months to go and I can cross this off my list!!
