Well I can definitively say this week that I think this sketchbook has officially become a habit (which was the whole point of this project, so WOOHOO)! I am comfortable with the 3-4 sketches a week and I even started to branch out and change up my style a bit, which feels really good and I am happy with the direction that it is going.
First up is the cucumber. This is still in my normal photo-realistic watercolor style. I love that I accidentally ended up making a face :| I did the slice of the cucumber on the right first and thought I could do better so I tried another one on the left. I was happier with the result and the level of transparency that it had.
So, here is the new style!! Working on my pen work and line drawings using color as an accent. I like this more minimal approach and it is fun to experiment with it.
Last, we have some white button mushrooms. I am in love with the bottom views and the way the lines turned out. I think this style has a little more personality and is more versatile and unique. I am working away on another project that I will reveal when the time is right, and this is the style I am leaning toward using.
So, that's 28 illustrations so far. Not too shabby :) I am going to continue working on my line drawings next week. See you then!
