The time has come again for Week in the Life. This is a yearly project started by Ali Edwards, a super talented story-teller and scrapbooker for those who aren't familiar! You can read more about the project here, but in short it is the documentation through photos and words of the details that make up one week in our lives. This year it is August 17-23.
This will be my third year participating. In 2013 I documented my week using one 12x12 Project Life style layout per day, that I added to Derek's First Year album. For 2014, I purchased Ali's kit and album and did a really in depth look at our week. I also blogged each days photos and stories. It was fun, but the blogging was super time consuming and it took a while to put the album together and as much as I enjoyed the process, I just don't have time for that this year.
So, here is my plan for this year. I am going to take photos and jot down some notes ( and hopefully type them up each night so they are print ready) and then make a 6x8 two page spread for each day and add it to my album from last year since there is still room. I won't be blogging every day, but I will share one wrap up post with photos at the end of the week and then one more post when my pages are complete.
Here are some of the stories I am hoping to focus on:
--I am going to dedicate one day to each of us and our daily routines. I am hoping to document a mix of what we eat, where we go, how we relax, our strengths and challenges, what we are thankful for, what we are dreaming of, etc. I really want to dig deeper in the who we are and why we are and record the purpose and feelings behind the photos and stories. This will allow me to focus on one person each day. I am going to include Lou Dog for a day too, so that is our five week days right there.
--For the weekend I am going to document our lives as a family. Our unique relationships with one another including how we connect with, challenge, and love each other. We are now a family of four, and for Dave and I, this means our family is complete. I want to capture this new dynamic of all of our lives.
I originally was going to skip this year because it just felt like ONE MORE PROJECT in a long list I have going, but after reading a few of Ali's blog posts and looking at my album from last year I got really excited about it again and decided why not? So, I am pushing a few other things aside for week to embark on this little journey :)
Anyone else doing Week In the Life this year? If so what are your goals or ideas for next week?
